Are You a Chicken or a Pig?

March 2, 2009

Chris Schmitt

The chicken turns to the pig and suggests that they start a restaurant together. The pig agrees, “that would be a great idea”. The chicken suggests they call their restaurant “Ham and Eggs”.

“Wait a minute” exclaimed the pig, “I’m no longer interested!”. “But why not?” asks the chicken.

“Because while I would be committed you would only be a contributer!”

The fable of The Chicken and the Pig is about commitment to a project or cause. Who are you: a chicken or a pig?

We all know by now that there are lots and lots of ideas; and 99.999% of them go nowhere. Why? There are lots of chickens that are willing to contribute to ideas. The problem is that there is a dire shortage of pigs.

Are you interested in turning ideas into real businesses? Do you have skills that can help others turn their ideas into reality? Then come to TeamCamp. TeamCamp is about turning ideas into successful startups. Pick an idea to work on. If it’s not your idea then pick someone else’s and help them make it a reality.

The next TeamCamp Meeting is this Thursday, March 5th as usual at The Code Factory at 246 Queen St. Ottawa from 6:00pm – 8:00pm. Social gathering afterwards.

See you there! Oink, Oink
